Meet the Artist
Charles Jackson, also known as Chuck, is a contemporary visual artist based in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and founder of Chuck Art Gallery LLC. He attended Elizabeth City State University, where he studied Fine Art with a minor in Graphic Design. His work explores culture, identity, family, and personal experience through portraiture that blends contemporary realism, expressive color, symbolism, and visual storytelling.
The Practice
Chuck’s practice is rooted in portraiture, using the human figure as a way to explore identity, memory, and lived experience. His paintings balance recognizable subjects with expressive color, symbolic elements, and layered narratives, allowing familiar people and moments to take on deeper meaning.
The Perspective
At the center of his work is an interest in what exists beyond the surface - the experiences, relationships, environments, and memories that shape who we become. Rather than revealing every detail, each piece leaves space for the viewer to interpret and connect with the story in their own way.
